(An Overdue) Welcome, Nana!

Meet Nana Duku!

Nana is a rising junior serving as the Assistant to the Steans Center’s Assistant Director. She began her work at the Steans Center in April.

Nana is studying Health Science with a concentration in Public Health. She feels passionately about advocacy in healthcare and has a strong interest in epidemiology. Her Public Health concentration is a way for her to explore issues in both. Nana aspires to advocate for brown and black communities and educate herself on empowering those in the community within the healthcare system.

In her spare time, Nana devotes herself to community service. She has served as a tutor on the DePaul campus as a Pathways Honor Student and continues to serve as a mentor for Black is Gold, a peer mentoring organization for young black women that she joined as a mentee in high school.

Nana’s relationship with Black is Gold has introduced the Steans Center to another wonderful Chicago organization, and we all look forward to working together.

The Community Engagement Leadership Team wishes Nana a belated welcome to the Steans Center!
